Celebrating Bastille Day

In Leeds we are proud to have 140 different nationalities living in the city, and this month our community of French speakers are celebrating one of the most important dates in the French calendar – Bastille Day! And you’re invited to take part in the celebrations.

La Petite Ecole, a Saturday school in Leeds for Francophones, is organising its annual fête on Saturday 13th July to celebrate Bastille Day. There will be lots of fun activities for both adults and children as well as a delicious buffet! More details about the event can be found below.

All proceeds from the event will be used to fund new learning materials and future exchange trips.

Bastille Day is considered the national day of France and marks the beginning of the French Revolution. Celebrations are held throughout the country and one of the oldest military parades in Europe takes place on the Champs-Élysées in front of the President of France.
