Leeds International Film Festival (LIFF) returns this year with an exciting line up of international films from across the globe, featuring some of the most anticipated films of the year alongside exciting new discoveries. From sci-fi films to documentaries, to family favourites there’s something for everyone in this year’s festival.
And for the first time, audiences will be able to enjoy many of the Festival’s films in the comfort of their own home thanks to Leeds Film Player, a bespoke online streaming service created for Leeds International Film Festival.
Some of the international highlights for the 2020 edition of the Festival include UK Premieres for some of the most acclaimed films from the recent Venice Film Festival including Dear Comrades from Russian master Andrey Konchalovsky and Bosnian filmmaker Jasmila Žbanić’s Quo Vadis, Aida?.
Short films have always been an integral and popular part of the LIFF programme and this year includes one of the largest selections in the Festival’s history with 180 short films from 52 countries.
Following the postponement of Leeds Young Film Festival earlier this year, LIFF includes some international family films including the Franco-Italian animated comedy-drama, The Bear’s Famous Invasion of Sicily.
The 17 days of film takes place from 03-19 November across a number of venues and online. The full Festival guide and programme can be found here.
