This past weekend the people of Leeds have been remembering and honouring Nelson Mandela, Honorary Freeman of the City. Hundreds of people attended a walk from Mandela Gardens adjacent to Millennium Square to the Mandela Community Centre on Saturday. There was plenty of singing and dancing throughout the walk and the following activities to celebrate his life and legacy.
On Sunday, a public screening of Mandela’s funeral was shown at the West Indian Centre. There will be ongoing events throughout the year remembering his legacy, which the International Relations blog will keep readers updated with!
