The Morley-Siegen link celebrated it’s 50th anniversary in 2017 and the organisers are looking to recruit new volunteers to get involved in next visit to Morley by a group of older people from Siegen.
“Come and welcome our friends from Siegen!” A group of older people is coming over from Siegen at the beginning of July. They are looking forward to meeting local people and seeing the sights of Yorkshire.
The 52 year old twinning partnership between Siegen in Germany and Morley/Leeds is still going strong, and the exchange between older people has been happening for the last 15 years.
Following last year’s successful visit to Siegen, the Morley-Leeds group have invited our friends over here this summer. There will be a programme of outings and meals together and no doubt a final night party, complete with a sing-song and Auld Lang Syne!
The Morley-Leeds group is looking for new members to get involved, to help plan the programme and welcome our guests. You do not need to speak German!
Please ring Frances Jones on 01924 824488 if you want to know more, or come along to the meeting 2.30pm Tuesday 5th February at Morley Elderly Action, Wesley Street, Morley LS27 9ED
